DRESS
CODE
Your school uniform confirms your
attendance at Our Lady of Mercy School
and is a symbol of unity within the
school community. It minimizes
distractions in the learning process. It
is important that you take pride in your
appearance by wearing your complete
uniform always remembering that by
wearing it inside and outside the
classroom and the school you are
representing the school and your
behavior should be a credit to both
yourself and the school community.
ONLY UNIFORMS FROM FLYNN AND
O’HARA UNIFORM COMPANY THAT CARRY THEIR
LABEL AND OUR SCHOOL NAME WILL BE
ALLOWED.
Pre-K and K Official
Physical Education Uniform at all times.
Girls (1-4)
Navy and Khaki Plaid Jumper, white
uniform long or short sleeved blouse,
Uniform sweater with school logo and
(students must have the school sweater
at all times), low-heeled black or blue
oxford or loafer style shoe and navy
knee high socks or tights.
Boys (1-4)
Khaki Pleated Twill Uniform Pants, White
short or long sleeved dress shirt,
sweater brought to school at all times
and with the school logo), leather
oxford or loafer and navy blue socks and
a belt.
Girs(6-8)
Navy and Khaki Plaid Wrap
Around Kilt, while short or long sleeve
button down collar blouse, Navy with
White Trim V-Neck Pullover Sweater with
the school logo and worn at all times,
blue or black leaver low heeled oxford
or loafer style shoe and navy blue
tights, only.
Boys 6 - 8:
Khaki Pleated Twill Pants, white or
long-sleeved button down collar shirt,
Navy and White Trim V-Neck worn at all
times, with the school logo, the the
office blue/yellow/white pattern tie
from Flynn and O’Hara, blue or black
oxford or loafer style leather shoe and
blue socks.,
Gym Uniform: Navy blue
school uniform shorts with the Our Lady
of Mercy School name on the shorts or
pants, Our Lady of Mercy School
tee-shirt and sneakers. Students are
allowed to wear sneakers on gym day,
ONLY.
Girls
and Boys:
The presence of anything that proclaims
a current fad is not
permitted.
Personal
Appearance
A good personal hygiene routine should
be followed daily: ears, neck, and
fingernails should be given special
attention. When appropriate, children
should
be instructed in the use of deodorant.
Uniforms should be neat and clean.
Hair should be clean and well groomed.
The boys’ hair should cut to the base of
the neck and not rest on the shirt.
Bangs should not be so long that they
impede vision. Boys are required to have
clean shaven faces. Girls may not have
dyed hair, extensions, nail wraps or
tips. Only clear nail polish may be worn
and nails kept short and clean.
Jewelry: One watch. One ring. No
bracelet. No necklace unless it is a
cross or religious medal. Only small
stud-type earring may be worn. No large
hoops, or rings or dangling earring are
permitted.
Parents will be notified if a child
comes to school consistently in an
unkempt
manner. If no improvement is noticed
within a reasonable amount of time, an
appointment with the parents and with
the guidance office will be made by
school
officials.
